SUB TERRA #5: TRI-ACCIDENT, TEENAGE RIOT, OPERATOR, ALBERT
Cock-a-doodle-woohoo! The Year of the Rooster has dawned, and with it comes the fifth edition of The Underground’s Sub Terra gig nights. Ring in the new with a February boredom-busting line-up of diverse and dazzling local acts.

The opening act is Albert, a teenage indie trio with a sharp songwriting instinct and sharper riffs. Albert first performed at a Shazza night, and impressed Chris B so much that she had to book them for Sub Terra.

Local favourites Teenage Riot will then show why they’re one of the most captivating live bands around. Looking back to the dawn of shoegaze and mixing it with new synth melodies, these indie kids channel the sultry, introspective sounds of namesakes Sonic Youth, Asobi Seksu and Radiohead.

Next up, Operator will make their long-awaited return to The Underground with a head-bobbing, guitar-driven set that has earned them comparisons to Weezer, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters.

Finally, it will be up to Tri-Accident to bring the night to an explosive classic rock finale. Showmanship is in the blood of these Planetrox 2016 finalists, who call on influences like Sabbath, Airborne and Guns N’ Roses to deliver a hard rockin’ show.
